Dog alert

Farmer asks residents to watch out after sheep is attacked.

A sheep on the field between Church Lane and Docking Road was bitten by a dog recently.

Back on 3 January, a ewe belonging to  of Lugden Hill Farm, Docking, needed veterinary attention after being attacked. The person who reported the incident said that two small brown dogs may have been involved.

“The ewe seems fine now and is back with the flock,” Mrs Robinson said yesterday. “They will be back on the Church meadow with their lambs late April or early May.”

“Meanwhile the rams are remaining on Chapel Field and there are, of course, other sheep in the area,” she added.

“Thanks to all the dog walkers and others who keep their eyes open.”

The last dog attack we reported was in May 2010.

If you see a problem with sheep in Church Meadow or Chapel Field, phone Judy Robinson on 518088.
