Stanhoe news

12 August 2010

Welcome (back)!

stanhoe.org strikes a good balance between new and returning visitors.

If you are one of the 57 percent of our visitors who will read this news item on your first visit to stanhoe.org, welcome!

We hope you find what you came here for. Our figures suggest that you probably wanted to know about the Duck Inn, or holiday cottages in Stanhoe, so click on the links to find out more.

And if you’re one of the 43 percent of visitors who have been here before, welcome back!

Such a good balance between new and returning visitors shows that stanhoe.org is working as planned:

  • First, it’s an information resource for people who already know Stanhoe – in many cases because they live here.
  • Second, it’s a way to show new people why they might like to take a holiday (or even buy a house) in Stanhoe.

We have been using Google Analytics to see who visits the website (don’t worry – we don’t have any personal information about you), and the results are interesting:

  • We currently get about 50 visitors a day.
  • In mid-July we were getting about 100 visitors a day, mainly looking for information about the pub.
  • Half our visitors come here directly.
  • The other half come via Google, Bing and other search engines.
  • Google searches are mainly for “Stanhoe” or the Duck Inn.
  • On average, visitors spend two-and-a-half minutes on the site and look at just over three pages.
  • About half of our visitors view only one page. As you might expect, visitors who come here via Google tend to view more pages.
  • Popular pages include news items, the Duck Inn, holiday cottages, caravan sites, wind turbines and local history.
  • Two-thirds of visitors are using Windows PCs, and nearly a third are using Macs.
  • In the last ten days we’ve had 24 visits from iPhones, three from iPads, and one each from Android and BlackBerry smartphones.

So if you run a business in Stanhoe, please check our holiday cottages, caravan sites or local businesses pages and think about how stanhoe.org could help you get new customers.

Enjoy your visit!
