Bishop’s garden

WI outing attracts a coach-full.

On Sunday 16 May a coach left the Village Hall bound for Norwich. On board were WI members from Stanhoe and surrounding villages, plus several non-WI guests. Their destination was the Bishop’s Garden at Norwich Cathedral, where the Norfolk Federation of WIs had organised a garden party. The weather was unusually fine.

On offer were excellent WI sandwiches and cakes, music by the Starlight Steel Band from Angel Road Junior School in Norwich, the usual raffles and auctions, plant sales, and of course the beautiful four-acre garden. The bishop has a fine collection of bamboo and a rare Wollemi pine.
